Ordering Transcripts

Transcripts can be requested at the Registrar's Office in Waterman. Pre-printed transcript request forms are available at the Registrar's Office or by clicking here. Alternately, you may simply write to us and request a transcript.
Please be sure to include the following information:

Name that you studied under here
Social security number
Date of birth
Last date you attended UVM
Your complete address and telephone number
COMPLETE address where you want the transcript sent

PLEASE SIGN the request. We MUST have your signature in order to release your transcript.

There is no charge for normal transcript processing. Transcripts are mailed within 5 working days, and frequently go out more quickly than that. If you are on a tight deadline, and need to be assured your transcript will be processed quickly, we do provide 'rush service' for a $5 fee. Rush service transcripts are mailed the next business day after we receive the request. Our rush service excludes weekends and holidays. So if we receive a rush service request on Friday or the day before a holiday, the transcript will go out on the next business day. All transcripts, even rush service, are sent using regular US Mail service.

Please be aware that if you have any financial obligations with the University, your transcript cannot be processed. Please note, also, that any transcript mailed to a student, even if placed in a separate sealed envelope, will be stamped "Issued to Student".

FAX INFORMATION

Our fax number is (802) 656-8230. If you wish to fax a request to us, please provide all the information listed above. In addition, we need the following information:

Address and phone number where you can be contacted
Address and phone number where you want the transcript faxed
Your request must contain the statement 'This is a faxed request'.
PLEASE be sure to SIGN your request.

After you fax your request, PLEASE MAIL IT TO US. We MUST have your WRITTEN signature on file. Your faxed signature is NOT sufficient.

Transcripts requested by fax are treated as rush service unless you indicate otherwise. The charge for a faxed request is $5 - the rush service fee.

If you want your transcript FAXED to the recipient rather than mailed, then the request is automatically considered rush service. The copy we fax will be stamped "UNOFFICIAL FAXED COPY." Please be aware that most schools and organizations will not accept faxed transcripts. The charge for a faxed transcript is $5 - the rush service fee. We will fax the transcript stamped "UNOFFICIAL" and then mail a follow-up official copy to the same individual we faxed the transcript to.
